The re-birth of 1000 Volts of Holt is a conceptual concert style show, recollecting a golden timeless legacy of the inimitable legendary Sir John Holt.
This debut performance is a dynamic and charismatic show being delivered in symphony. Unlike any other reggae performance, this is a stunning 100% live show of first class music, that brings to you an exclusive, unforgettable and an unequivocal exquisite classical reggae experience.
Sir John Holt and IQ Michael originate from the legendary stable of the world renowned Studio One, Jamaica, also known as "The Motown of Reggae". Studio One is where legendary greats like Bob Marley and the Wailers, John Holt and The Paragons, Toots and the Maytals, Horace Andy, Ken Booth, Alton Ellis, Dennis Brown and Gregory Issacs - to name just a few - were borne under the ingenious hand of Sir Clement Coxsone S Dodds (Founder of Studio One).
The show consists of a seven piece all strong female band (AKABU - QUEENS) and a male percussionist. A phenomenal unit to deliver a truly outstanding performance for the best reggae experiences you will ever have!
Akabu were awarded the Stereograph Foundation UK Gold Musicians Award on 20 Dec 2022. The award was given "for outstanding achievement on being the first all female band which is unique, also a remarkable contribution to the reggae music industry, showing versatility, which is definitely to be commended."
To add further to the appeal, official members of The Drifters will be supporting the main event with a 50mins+ performance of some of their most beloved legendary classics: Kissin' in the Back Row of the Movies, Saturday Night at the Movies, Up on the Roof, Stand By Me, This Magic Moment and many more.
