Edgar Allan Poe's The Fall Of The House Of Usher
BOOK TICKETS
Summoned by a childhood friend in dire need of help, a visitor arrives at the House of Usher, a crumbling residence in a bleak, desolate landscape.
Inside he discovers the sickly and cadaverous Roderick Usher, the last surviving male heir, consumed by fear and afflicted by an inexplicable illness that seems to eerily mirror his dark, dank and decaying surroundings.
"I shall perish," predicts the ailed and confined Usher, "I must perish in this deplorable folly..."
First published in 1839, writer and poet Edgar Allan Poe's claustrophobic tale of terror was an instant sensation. A richly layered and atmospheric Gothic masterpiece featuring a supremely creepy house, the increasingly tense story explores themes of friendship and family, as well as madness, isolation, despair and ultimately death.
A macabre literary classic read by NeuNoir regular, actor and voice-over artist Richard Usher (no relation) - perfect for Halloween.
