Birmingham Comedy Festival Presents

Laurel and Hardy are spooked!

BOOK TICKETS

After two sell-out screenings in 2019, Birmingham Comedy Festival return to Stourbridge Town Hall for three classic black and white comedies with a spooky theme, all featuring the greatest double-act of all time, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Habeas Corpus (1928)

Professor Padilla requires human corpses for his illegal medical experiments, and who better to go and dig one up for him than Stan and Ollie? But at the graveyard, the duo get more than they bargained for. A silent adventure.

The Laurel and Hardy Murder Case (1930)

When penniless Stan and Ollie hear of the death of the wealthy Ebeneezer Laurel, they reckon Stan might be in line for a hefty inheritance. Heading to his creaky mansion for the reading of the will (and hopefully a fortune), neither anticipate the night of terror that awaits.

The Live Ghost (1934)

The surly captain of a rumoured ‘ghost ship’ has trouble attracting a crew, so calls on Laurel and Hardy to shanghai him some sailors. But The Boys soon find themselves setting sail, and face-to-face with a ghostly figure.

Introduced by John Ullah, Grand Sheik of The Laughing Gravy Tent (the Birmingham branch of the Laurel and Hardy Appreciation Society), and author of This Is More Than I Can Stand, the biography of Birmingham-born Laurel and Hardy co-star Charlie Hall.

A Birmingham Comedy Festival presentation in association with The Laughing Gravy Tent.
