The Thrilla in Manila and the Rumble in the Jungle may be legendary bouts, but Dudley is gearing up for its own blockbuster boxing showdown.
In a charity clash set to pack a punch, Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, will step into the ring with former Councillor Shaz Saleem - all in the name of charity.
The two civic heavyweights will be throwing punches for a purpose, raising funds for the Mayor of Dudley's charities.
This pugilistic pair will be going toe‑to‑toe over eight one‑minute rounds, topping a full fight card featuring talented local boxers. With eight bouts to enjoy, the night promises to be a real crowd‑pleaser and a knockout evening of entertainment.
VIP ticket holders will get the ringside treatment, including food and access to the after‑show party at nearby Fun City - a knockout combo for any boxing fan.
Councillor Pete Lee, Mayor of Dudley, said:
"This is going to be a great night of boxing with many top local fighters and two Dudley sparring partners, Patrick Harley and Shaz Saleem.
"Come and support them and help us raise money for some very worthwhile charities - and may the best man win!"
VIP tickets include a buffet and after-show party at Fun City.
Doors open at 5.30pm for VIPs and 6.30pm for standard entry.
